Planting Instructions:
Sow outdoors 2-4 weeks before average last frost in spring. Sow as late as 2 months before first fall frost. Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before average last frost.

Additional Tips:
Easy to grow from seed.

Does well with average, well drained soil.

Prefers full sun, but will tolerate shade.

Grow in containers to prevent unwanted spreading.

Catnip is a favorite of bees, due to its fragrant blossoms.

Harvesting:
Catnip is best harvested in mid-morning or early afternoon once any dew has evaporated. Leaves can be harvested any time during the growing season, however, the oils of the plant reach their peak during flowering. To harvest, cut the entire stem at the base of the plant for a collection of leaves and flowers to use fresh or dry. Catnip is a fast grower and will replace stems more quickly than removed leaves.

Companion Plants:
Catnip helps to repel a number of harmful insects including ants, aphids, beetles, cockroaches, flea beetle, Japanese beetles and squash bugs. It’s also a great repellant for mice and rats. Plant with beets, collards, hyssop, tomatoes, pumpkins and squash.
