Sow outside 1-2 weeks after average last frost. Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last spring frost. Large seeds are easy to sow directly in the ground.
To aid germination, rub seed with nail file or soak in warm water for up to 24 hours and plant immediately.
Seed requires darkness to germinate.
Cutting off the faded/dead flowers will prolong blooming.
Harvest leaves and flowers as soon as they are ready to garnish salads or other dishes, or cut them for a vase.
