Creating native plant habitats is one of the most beneficial things we can do to help preserve biodiversity. Native plants have a variety of benefits and are generally low-maintenance since they're already well adapted to the area. They help to conserve water by requiring less of it. They also have no need for synthetic chemical inputs like fertilizers and pesticides, which helps to provide a healthier landscape for you and your community. Native plants also offer beautiful showy flowers and produce abundant colorful fruits and seeds. In addition to providing vital habitat for birds, they also attract and provide nectar for an array of pollinators including butterflies, moths, hummingbirds, native bees, butterflies, bats and more.
We've selected some of our favorite natives to grow from seed in the Missouri area and hope you enjoy them as well!
