(Pisum sativum) Early producer. The Little Marvel pea is a sturdy, compact plant that produces pods of delicate, tasty green peas that are home vegetable garden staples.
Little Marvel is considered a dwarf plant and does not require staking to produce an abundance of the podded vegetables. They have dark green foliage and a spread of about 5 inches. The small, plump peas have a distinctly sweet taste and are delicious to enjoy fresh or cooked.
Frost-resistant, these cold-weather performers produce abundant crops of sweet, tender peas. Holds up very well on the vine and stays tender/sweet even when mature. Wilt resistant. Excellent for freezing.

Plant outdoors as early as 3-4 weeks before your last frost date in well drained soil that is raised into beds or rows. Sow early crop seeds 2" deep in light soil or 1" deep in heavy soil. Thin to 2"-3" apart. Provide a thin wire, stake, or string for them to climb. This will provide more room for growth and result in higher production.
Soak seed in water for 12 - 24 hours before sowing.
Using soil inoculation will increase yields by boosting the available nitrogen in the soil.
Once established, peas supply their own nitrogen, so go easy on fertilizers.
Peas are a cool weather crop; quality and quantity suffer when the temperature rises.
